Presentation
iXQ is a new ICQ Client for MacOS X. It is developed in Objective-C
and it implements the new protocol of AOL, OSCAR (ICQv7). The project
currently supports most basic icq features such as standard and
URL messaging, history, and contact list management.
If you know
some Objective-C programming and if you're interested in helping
the project, contact starman, the lead programmer. If you don't,
you can always contribute ideas, chat about the interface, or help
design icons.
Objectives
We are in the process of totally rewriting the iXQ ICQ client because
of fundamental threading problems in the old code base. The aim
of this page is to keep you informed of the development. We hope
you will help us improving it, by sending feature requests, and
bug reports.
First, you
can discover here iXQ with a quick
tour showing off its basic functions (warning, big images ~80k each).
Second, you can grab the latest build (SP10) here.
You can then create a new iXQ Document with your old account and
import your contacts from Mirabilis Icq, Gerry and Fire ("Add
Users" in the contextual menu in the bottom of the contact
list), or create a totally new account.
Then you can contact us here
to give your feedback.
